The PSPA thanks the Shapiro Administration for filing a lawsuit with 24 other states to block the US Department of Education’s new federal regulation which removes physician assistants/associates and other health professionals from the definition of “professional” degree programs. The new regulation severely limits the amount of federal loans that PA students will be able to borrow for their education. The PSPA applauds the Shapiro Administration for recognizing the value of Physician Assistants to address healthcare workforce shortages and to provide quality access to care to Pennsylvania’s citizens.
